MillRiver
Custom Door & Window
MillRiver is New England's premier full service millwork
supplier, and the North Shore area of Boston, Massachusetts is our
home. Since our inception in 1985 our focus has been the customer. Over
the years the company has been a high end window supplier and even had
a small hardwood lumber operation with a hardware store associated with
it, providing custom millwork in addition to retail sales. Over the
years the company's business focus shifted more to custom millwork, and
by 1996 was totally dedicated to it.
With the sale of the company to the new owners in 2002, the company
further solidified its production operations and marketing efforts to
focus exclusively on custom millwork. The new company also started
expanding its market area and production ability beyond the residential
into the commercial and institutional construction sectors. MillRiver
has also established very valuable and important ties with area
business and leading wood industry associations in New England and
internationally.
To make the best products for our customers, we need the best and most
effective tools and plant. Building on the existing infrastructure,
floor and office space was increased, and many old or small machines
were replaced or upgraded. A new variable radius shaper-moulder,
vacu-form gluing system, pneumatic clamping system, and integrated
digital machine setting readouts were installed. In a major tooling and
capacity upgrade, a 3 axis CNC Router and a SCMI five head moulder was
installed along with a cooresponding high volume dust collection
system. The entire shop production flow was streamlined and a separate
assembly shipping area was created. On the computer systems front, CAD
design, drafting, and large scale commercial plotting systems were
implemented, and this new website was created and deployed. Finally, in
order to more efficiently run the company, an internal IP and WI-FI
network, broadband internet access, and networked job tracking and
financial management systems were put in place. In our shop we may
reproduce the beautiful things that were created in the past, but we
now do it with the help of the best current processes and technology.
We feel that MillRiver is very well poised for our future and the
expanding custom millwork and historic reproduction marketplace. Every
change and improvement that we have made is to make the company's
processes more efficient so that we can better serve our broad range of
great customers. We cover the areas from design to installation,
because that is our product's lifecycle. We are usually involved in
each major step along the way to ensure that every project gets the
specific attention it requires for a successful end result. Day in and
day out we dedicate our company to bring the highest level of quality
and professionalism to our customers.
We are proud and honored to be a part of our wood products industry,
which has a particularly historic past here in New England, and we
welcome any questions or comments that you might have concerning our
company, products or services.
